Laptops 4 Learning met Julie during her junior year of high school at Cesar Chávez Senior High. She was enrolled in multiple AP and honor classes in hopes of gaining scholarships, which would enable her to become the first member of her family to attend college. A bright, ambitious and very active student, Julie completed all of her schoolwork (class notes, papers, take-home exams, homework assignments, etc.) on her cell phone. Remarkably, she was able to maintain a solid 4.3 grade point average.
Having a laptop device would impact her productivity. However her mother, while maintaining a single income home with four (4) children, simply could not afford to purchase a laptop.

Laptops 4 Learning's Contribution
Laptops 4 Learning was made aware of Julie’s story and awarded her the laptop she needed. After receiving it, she used the summer months prior to her senior year to research colleges, prepare for SAT / ACT testing, and research available scholarships. She ended her senior year accepted into two Arizona state universities. Additionally, Julie’s mom was able to use the newly acquired laptop to apply online for new employment and obtained a new, higher paying job.
I wanted to share this because it shows how this nonprofit organization is making life better for others.
