Alberto was excited to receive his own personal laptop today, which he will use for job search and future employment opportunities. He is being supported by two members of his vocational rehabilitation team at SWAN Rehab, Kimberly (right) and Sarah (left).
In his request for financial aid from Laptops 4 Learning, Alberto wrote:
“I am currently enrolled in a vocational rehabilitation program at Swan Rehab. I am a quadriplegic C5-C6 complete spinal cord injury who has been working with rehabilitation services to gain some mobility back. I am in search of a computer/laptop that I can use for both job search and to use for future employment, as I have been learning about software I can install on a laptop for easier accessibility, such as voice control, that can help make getting a job more of a possibility to me. I have not been able to work since 2008, which has made my finances at the moment not enough to help me purchase computer hardware. Having a computer will open up more opportunities for me and help me feel more connected, and help with changing software to keep me updated in the current job market.”
Generous supporters provided aid to defray the cost of the new laptop. Thank you!
